But the first few courses that I could actually taste- it was soooooo yummie! It’s so so so hard though- in chinese tradition the banquet starts at approx 8:30-9pm- I was starving by then! 
Although I can’t finish all the dishes, I can imagine how yummie it would have been. So if anyone is going to have a wedding in HK, please have it there and invite me! Muahahahahaha~!!

What’s even better is this sushi train has a GIANT, I mean GIANT fish tank. Looking at such tranquil environment while having sushi is the best feeling in the world Too bad for the fishes- it must be hard to see their species being eaten by us Muahahahahaha 
There it is- my beautiful Little Egg Cakes- I have been eating this every since I have memory- crispy in the outside, and when you eat all the edges off and open up the middle bit- there’s a fluffy little “yolk” on the inside-I simply CANNOT live without this and it’s one of the things I missed most about HK.
There’s a cafe in Box Hill and one in Sydney chinatown that I know of that makes this- let me say- sh*thouse. You’ve got to go to HK to get this. They also sell waffles with peanut butter and sugar *moans* Yumgasmic!

For $4-$6 you get: instant noodle with sausage & egg plus drink (pictured) or two eggs, sausage/ham/spam, toast plus drink or egg, spam/ham/sausage, macaroni plus drinks. Not the most nutritious food, but hey- it’s cheap.
). But really, it’s yummie- in an old style kitchen, these middle aged ladies are making loads & loads of dumplings. There are so many different types of dumplings, but I felt like Shanghai Wonton- so Shanghai vegetable & meat wonton it is.
Oh and of course, I’ve gotta rave about their service- they made me feel so so welcome, they really treat me like a house guest. They know a lot of their customer’s names and the service was prompt.

This, is REALLY TASTY Tasty Congee and Wonton Noodle Soup. OK. I admit that I don’t eat prawns, so the prawn wonton in here have not been tasted by me, but I have guarantees by many aunties and uncles that this is THE place for Wonton Noodle Soup (oh and of course Tasty’s main shop in Happy Valley 21 King Kwong St).
I chose the beef noodle soup and my husband chose Beef brisket curry which I thought it was a stupid choice, considering this is a congee & noodle soup place stupid, not a curry place. Turns out, the yellow brisket curry was fabulous. Just enough heat and flavour to tantalise, right amount of meat in the curry sauce- not that my husband let me try ANY meat cos he ATE it all and my husband’s favourite potatoes- what more can you ask for?
My beef noodle soup arrive and it smells beautiful. Eat mouthful has the aromatic taste of sesame seed oil and noodles that has just the right bounciness. The beef is a bit bland, but nothing a good ole slap of chilli oil can’t fix.
Oh we also ordered steamed rice noodle rolls (4 types in one dish). It has the normal beef, prawns, BBQ pork and then there is chicken, which is quite rare as an ingredient. But I really love the chicken cos it’s a bit different and it’s really tender and full of flavour.
I almost successfully dragged my husband to the dessert shop next door, Honeymoon dessert, but he won’t let me Try it though- apparently it’s REALLY yummie!
This restaurant is AMAZING!!! We go there every single time we get back to HK- it has the yummiest Yum Cha, one of the best Chinese cuisines and a pretty good location for a bit of star spotting.
On that particular day (the only time I actually remembered to take any pics) we had yum cha plus “Chinese mitten crab”. Every year in autumn, it’s the “Chinese Mitten Crab” season in HK. These Hairy Crab doesn’t have a lot of meat, but they have the yummiest crab roe (some other blogs called it “yolk”).
Apparently if you like hard roe, choose the female crab, but if you like soft roe (a bit like coddled egg), then you’ve gotta choose the male crabs. This time I have the male crab.
