As previously mentioned, part of my Melbourne Food and Wine Festival adventure includes going to “Crawl and Bite”, a $50 tapas crawl which leads us to three different locations- Longrain, Seamstress and Trunk.
Longrain

Longrain is our first stop for the Crawl- we were pleasantly surprised by the drinks- red or white wine- as we didn’t expect there to be drinks included. What a great way to start a Tuesday night :P!
We were served a small glass of Tom Yum soup- this soup is heady with lemongrass, galangal, and other herbs- but after trying Mini’s Tom Yum the day before, this just can’t compare with Thai home cooking!
We also had this cuttlefish salad and glazed pork belly in Longrain. The cuttlefish is a bit chewy but full of nice, fresh flavours. The glazed pork belly is alright, but I think Red Spice Road is better. It’s also quite hard to eat all of these with a tiny bamboo pick.
Seamstress

Off we go to Seamstress- on the way we can see other groups hurrying to their Crawl and Bite destination- I almost wanted to give them high-fives- this is feeling every bit like Amazing Race- with yummie food and friendlier people 
At Seamstress we had a choice of two cocktails, my memory was a bit hazy so I only remember that one has Blood Orange and the other has Lemon, and the Lemon one tasted better but I had the orange one (look who’s drunk that night :/ )
We also have 3 small dish- sashimi, a peking duck roll and deep fried zucchini flower. The sashimi was OK but not the freshest I’ve eaten, the Peking duck roll was good like last time and the deep fried zucchini flower was better than last time cos it’s not bitter. Big tick!
We were expecting 2 dishes in this round but off we go again. Awwww 
I suppose technically Longrain gave us 3 bites (tom yum, cuttlefish salad and pork belly) and Seamstress gave us the same, it’s just that Longrain gave it to us in two lots so it felt a bit more substantial 
Trunk

Trunk was in my category of great pizza, but wayyy to exxy. This time we were served their tapas menu: arancini balls with mushrooms which was just a yummie morsel of deep fried goodness; some homemade ham thing which I don’t rate, and little bruschetta bites with Sardines and capers which I don’t mind. But really, by this time these tiny little morsels of tantalizing food is just making me hungry and I just want more!
So we decided to thank the friendly hostesses who have guide us around without getting lost, skip the chance to go to Canary Club for a Sangria, and head down to Harajuku for a big nice crispy banana, custard and chocolate crepe to end our Crawl and Bite evening
